The flow of time cannot be altered, but music can bend it. TIME BENDS features themes of curiosity and meaning, loss and belonging, the old and the new. This concert features the world premiere of Vancouver composer Peter Hannan’s commission Runs deep, bends time, for choir and electronics, exploring the cycles of our existence as individuals and as members of the human species, both in the present and in our recent past. His work also quotes the Requiem by Renaissance composer Tomás Luis de Victoria, which is the companion piece on the program.
