Ariane Bell Vila, soprano
Ariane (they/them) is a vocalist, musician, artist, educator and arts marketer whose work spans across mediums. Their work is rooted in human connection and emotion, and is driven by an introspective and highly inquisitive curiosity about the relationships between art, story-telling, mental health, science, and language.
Ariane is a soprano, holds an Honours Bachelor of Music in Voice from Wilfrid Laurier University (‘15), and has sung with a number of choirs and ensembles throughout their life, including the Laurier Singers Chamber Choir, Audax Voice Ensemble, DaCapo Choir, Schafer Singers, and currently sings with the Vancouver Gaelic Choir. They participated in the Breno Italy International Music Academy in 2018, and were recently an artist in residence at the Agua Viva / Water Residency at Santa Rosa Arts at Christina Lake, BC.
Also a songwriter, they write and perform original work, often featuring piano, ukulele, and looping pedal. They have been teaching private voice lessons for twelve years, with a focus on guiding their students to find confidence in their own unique sound, whatever their preferred singing style. Ariane currently works as Chor Leoni’s Marketing and Community Relations Coordinator, and is also Communications Coordinator with Murray Paterson Marketing Group.
