Dinah Ayre grew up in a musical family on Vancouver Island and has had a love for choral singing from a young age. She sang in Cantiamo Chamber Ensemble during high school, and since then has always felt the need to be part of a choir. Since moving to Vancouver she has completed an Artist Diploma and Music Performance Diploma at the Vancouver Academy of Music, studying with soprano Robyn Driedger-Klassen.
Dinah has a special interest in new music and working with local composers. She was a singer for the 2019 Vancouver Opera New Works Project, an intensive program that brought together writers, composers and musicians to create new opera scenes in just two weeks. Recently, she sang in the premiere of the new one-act opera, The Woman Who Borrowed Memories, in the Vancouver Fringe Festival. Dinah also performs regularly with Players & Singers, under the direction of Kevin Zakresky.
After singing with Pacifica Singers for many years, Dinah joined the Vancouver Chamber Choir in 2017. She is thrilled to be returning for another busy and exciting season.
