Krista Pederson is a pianist, singer and teacher in Vancouver. After being born and raised in Saskatchewan, Krista has loved the adventure of living and studying in different places. She studied piano performance with Jacques Després at the University of Alberta and completed a Master’s Degree in collaborative piano with John Hess at Western University. She has also studied piano and voice in the U.S., Canada, Spain and Austria with dedicated musicians like Alexandra Munn, Christiane Riel, Margo Garrett, Patricia Caicedo and Norman Shetler.
She is grateful to have been able to create a career that allows her to perform and share music with the people around her. Her work includes collaborating with singers, instrumentalists and choirs, playing for ballet classes, teaching, performing, and being a mother to her four children. Krista is a pianist in the Coastal Sound Music Academy family and this year, she is thrilled to also be teaching and getting to know more artists at Place des Arts in Coquitlam, BC. In addition this year, after a brief hiatus, Krista is so pleased to rejoin the Vancouver Chamber Choir family with whom she has loved performing, touring and recording.
