Krista Pederson

Krista Pederson, soprano

Krista Pederson is relatively new to Vancouver and is excited to enter her third season with the Vancouver Chamber Choir!

Born in Saskatchewan and coming most recently from Ottawa, Krista has enjoyed travelling through her life for study and adventure. She studied piano performance with Jacques Després at the University of Alberta and completed a Master’s degree in collaborative piano with John Hess at the University of Western Ontario. While at Western, Krista served as pianist and singer for the University of Western Ontario Singers. She has studied piano and voice in Canada, the U.S., Spain and Austria with wonderful musicians like Alexandra Munn, Christiane Riel, Margo Garrett, Patricia Caicedo and Norman Shetler.

She has been so pleased to create a career that allows her to perform and share music with people around her. Her work includes collaborating with singers, playing for ballet schools, teaching, performing and being a mother to her four little children. Most recently, she had the pleasure of being the pianist for Cursed by a Woman, a new musical that premiered in Edmonton, written by singer/songwriter Maren Ord.
