Michael Stahl, tenor
Michael is known for his vocal clarity, versatility, and expression. His passion for music permeates through his career as a chamber singer and soloist.
Michael grew up in the Bay Area of California, where he sang with Grammy-award winning Ragazzi Boys Chorus, touring around the world and singing at a young age. He went on to direct and sing with the organization’s alumni ensemble, Ragazzi Continuo. He studied voice and education at the University of Puget Sound in Washington, where he fell in love with both directing and singing in chamber ensembles. Michael is currently studying with Dr. Graeme Langager in a Master’s program in Choral Conducting at the University of British Columbia.
He is fond of performing many genres of music, including: classical, pre-baroque, jazz, contemporary, and avant-garde. He also enjoys a career acting in operas, operettas, and musical theatre productions. Favorite roles include Candide in Candide, Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance, and Mark in Rent.
Michael is thrilled and humbled to be singing with such an exceptional group of individuals, as this is his first season with the Vancouver Chamber Choir. He is excited to learn more about the vibrant music and choral culture in western Canada.
