An eager musician from an early age, Nick Sommer has been an enthusiastic choral singer since early childhood in rural Alberta. An experienced and versatile musician, Nick has had the privilege to sing with world-class ensembles throughout Canada and has had the opportunity to tour programs with these groups throughout Europe and North America.

Through his career as a tenor, Nick has performed as a choral singer, section lead and soloist with several noteworthy ensembles including The Augustana Choir, Camrose Camerata, Richard Eaton Singers, Chor Leoni, Laudate Singers, Vancouver Cantata Singers, Pacific Spirit Choir and Cor Flammae. A flexible lyric tenor, he has performed many great works as a soloist including such highlights as Messiah (Handel), Dido and Aeneas (Purcell), All Is Calm (Lichte), The Creation (Hadyn) Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Webber) Lauda per la Natività del Signore (Respighi) and Requiem (Mozart).

Outside of classical music, Nick loves performing and experimenting with other genres of music, especially folk, rock, jazz, and musical theatre. Nick is delighted, honoured, and humbled to be singing with the Vancouver Chamber Choir, and at the opportunity to work with the exceptional musicians that make up the ensemble.
