Kiyomi Hori

Kiyomi Hori, soprano

Vancouver local, Kiyomi Hori (they/them) is an experienced and versatile conductor, voice coach and soprano who specializes in work with changing and developing voices at all stages of life, from children/youth to aging voices and to gender-affirming voice work.

Kiyomi is currently soloist and assistant conductor for the Pacific Spirit Choir and the artistic director of the Pacific Spirit Children’s choir on the North Shore, and teaches voice and piano from their home studio space. As a soloist, their favourite performances have been for Weihnachts-Oratorium and Magnificat (Bach), Missa in Tempore Belli (Haydn), Chichester Psalms (Bernstein) and Lauda per la Natività del Signore (Respighi).

As a member of the choral community in British Columbia since early childhood, Kiyomi has sung with many community and professional ensembles in the Lower Mainland including Phoenix Chamber Choir, Cor Flammae and Vancouver’s award-winning musica intima.
